In today’s global marketplace, it’s common for startups to open offices outside of the US, hire international employees and have US employees travel overseas. This opens the firm up to a new range of legal, cultural, and financial obligations that need to be considered. Our discussion will focus on the logistics a People Leader leverages to tackle these challenges and how to approach managing a distributed workforce from a cultural, employee benefits, and engagement perspective.

We will be joined by an experienced panel including Carolyn Knox, an International Employment Attorney with Ogletree Deakins, Melissa Lightbody who has held numerous Global Head of People and Business Operations roles and currently runs her own consulting practice, Peter Kadison, a VP at Vista, a professional advisory firm in the international expansion space, and Joe LaSorte, VP of Global Consulting at Sequoia.

Breakfast snacks will be provided and conversation will be encouraged. This session is part of a monthly Sequoia HR Thought Leadership Series.
